Questions from Europeans living in Castellón

Living in Castellón on a European passport: when the green certificate is needed, what it asks for, and where the NIE fits in.

I am Bulgarian and start at a ceramics plant in Vila-real. What do I need first?

A NIE and a Social Security number, for your employer’s payroll. Staying beyond three months means registering too: form EX-18 gives you the green certificate, and the contract itself proves your situation.

Certificado de registro UE Castellón: at which address?

At one of two police addresses, Plaza Teodoro Izquierdo 6 or Calle Río Sella 5: policia.es lists EU registration certificates at both. Choose the EU citizen’s certificate among the Castellón procedures, and the confirmation names the address.

I am French and retired. What do I show to register?

Enough income for you and your family, and health cover: public cover through the S1 form from the country that pays your pension, or a private policy with full cover in Spain.

My contract ended. Can I still register?

Often, yes: a job is not the only ground. Savings with health cover, a course, or a close European relative living here can be enough. Tell us your situation and we check which basis is yours.

Do I pay the 790-012 at the appointment?

No, beforehand: online, or in cash at a bank that collects State fees. Bring the paid form or the online receipt with you.

Should I do the padrón before the green certificate?

Yes, it usually helps. A padrón certificate is the simplest proof of your address, and officers may ask for it. You register with your own municipality.

Which sample is yours?

Tell us, in a short message, which passport you hold and what brings you to Castelló. Our reply by email names your procedure and lists the papers to gather.
